ALT= Tag for images

The HTML ALT tag is very important for a WAI web site! Why not have somethings like that:

ALT wiki code: [http://www.serveur.com/gif (alt description here)]

Actually, wouldn't it make more sense to simply allow graphical links in link|description tags? As in [http://.../something.gif|Alt text]
