It is widely known, that while doing BadThings? in a (computing) system may lead into fast apparent solutions and components that appear to work, in the long run they will always cause grief.

Taking a moment to do the thing properly will give you a lasting component (not to mention personal satisfaction of a job done right). Usually the overhead is fairly small. Most non-broken systems have very simple and effective ways to DoTheRightThing?.

In larger environments, quick throwaway overrides and such are not acceptable.
